About Progressive Democrats of the East Bay[This page is still under development. Members of PD–East Bay are enouraged to submit comments.] Progressive Democrats of the East Bay (PD–East Bay) is a growing chapter of Progressive Democrats of America, a national organization and Political Action Committee (PAC). PD–East Bay was started by supporters of Kucinich, Dean, and various social justice groups. PD–East Bay is not affiliated with the Democratic party but instead, is dedicated to restoring a progressive vision to the Democratic party. PD–East Bay supports progressive causes by forming action groups, in coalition with other progressive organization, to take action on a local and national level. PD–East Bay also supports electing progressives to existing Democratic party structures and to local, state, and national offices. PD–East Bay supports progressive candidates for elected office from the most local boards to national offices. It dialogues and networks with a broad-based coalition of like-minded groups and people in the San Francisco Bay Area to create a common agenda and an agreed-upon plan by which to realize shared progressive goals. About Progressive Democrats of AmericaProgressive Democrats of America (PDA) is organizing chapters nationally and is working to form progressive Democratic caucuses in each of the 435 congressional districts in all 50 states. PDA is also working to forge links to the Congressional Black Caucus and the House Progressive Caucus on the national level and to help form caucuses on the state level. Please, if you support our work, become a member. Funds make it possible for us to create flyers, literature, and banners, rent a meeting room, and mail notices about events. These are all essential activities to our functioning as a progressive voice. |
